We learned so much about each other throughout this process - we strengthened our communication, we continued to hone in on what matters most about our wedding day, we learned to be flexible and we also really strengthened our ability to meet in the middle, to compromise as a team. Wedding planning is a team effort and we really strengthened those skills. We also really leaned on each other at different times, which completely solidified that this person would be each other's rock through it all. Not only was it a fun process to plan our dream day, but we are also really proud of all the strides we made in our relationship!

We've been married for 11 years and in the wedding business for 10, a photographer and a wedding planner who have figured out a few things. Solely working with couples, we've seen what a difference it makes for couples to plan their wedding together. What was the coaching experience like?
Kate as a coach was excellent in the way she was able to help us navigate the decision making process. At the beginning, the worksheets and vision board allowed for us to come together as a couple to begin identifying and discussing the very preliminary parts of planning a wedding from decor, to theme, to the overall look and feel of the day. This exact process helped bring our wedding to life, something we definitely could not have done on our own.
What surprised you about each other through the process?
Mike - I realized how amazing Amanda was in adapting to the changes we had to make going from a 200 person wedding to a much smaller more intimate ten person gathering. She always prioritized our marriage first.
Amanda - I was surprised to see how involved Mike wanted to be when it came to the wedding planning process which made the experience so much fun. Because of this, we were able to really learn what was important to each of us and bring in some of our cultures that we wanted to share with each other as a couple that night. It also really helped me to see how we faced adversity and how Mike prioritized us as a partnership through all the changes we had to make and even sacrifice in order to be married during this crazy 2020 pandemic year.
